1. Introduction

This guide explains what to do when a batch does not save, upload, complete, or transfer as expected in Asset Records Capture (ARC). Use the options below in the order shown to recover your work quickly and continue scanning.

2. Batch Recovery

Use Batch Recovery when a batch has upload-related issues and you need ARC to reload the scanned images from your local scanning folder back into the browser.

Batch Recovery can help when a batch is in one of these statuses:

  • Uploading Batch

  • Upload Failed

To use Batch Recovery:

  1. Open the affected batch.

  2. Select More Actions.

  3. Click Batch Recovery.

  4. Review the recovered images and continue with the next action.

If Batch Recovery does not restore the batch, try the available retry option for that batch status.

3. Retry options

ARC may show different retry actions depending on where the batch failed. Use the retry option shown for the batch first.

  • Retry Save: Use when the batch did not save correctly.

  • Retry Complete: Use when the batch could not finish the complete action.

  • Retry Upload: Use when the upload did not finish successfully.

  • Retry Transfer: Use when the batch uploaded but did not transfer to RMS.

After retrying, refresh Batch Monitor and review the latest batch status. You can also open the batch audit trail to see whether the batch was transferred or failed to transfer.

4. Common batch failures

4.1. Save fail

If the batch does not save:

  • Try Retry Save if it is available.

  • Make sure you do not close the browser until the action finishes.

  • If the problem continues, reopen the batch and try again.

4.2. Complete fail

If the batch does not complete:

  • Check that all required metadata fields are filled in.

  • Try Retry Complete if it is available.

  • If the batch still does not complete, use Batch Recovery if the images need to be restored.

4.3. Upload fail

If the batch shows Upload Failed or stays in Uploading Batch longer than expected:

  • Try Retry Upload first.

  • If needed, use Batch Recovery to reload the images.

  • Check Batch Monitor again after refreshing the page.

Recent ARC releases improved upload reliability and clearer on-screen messages, but if an upload still fails, retry the batch before opening a support request.

4.4. Transfer fail

If the batch uploads but does not reach Transferred status:

  • Try Retry Transfer if it is available.

  • Review the batch audit trail to see the latest transfer result.

  • If the batch remains in a failed transfer state, create a new batch and rescan the paperwork only if recovery and retry options do not work.

5. Common scan issues

Some issues happen during scanning instead of during save or transfer. Common examples include:

  • The scanner does not respond.

  • No images appear after scanning.

  • The scan action takes longer than expected.

  • An on-screen message appears during scanning.

If a scan issue happens:

  • Wait for the current action to finish before clicking again.

  • Try the scan again.

  • If scanning still does not work, close and reopen the batch if needed.

  • If the batch already contains images, use Save and Close when available before leaving the page.

Recent ARC updates also improved scanning messages so they are easier to read and less likely to block main buttons.

6. When to contact support

Contact support if:

  • Batch Recovery does not restore the images

  • The retry option does not resolve the issue

  • The batch remains stuck and does not move to the next status

  • You continue to see repeated scan or upload failures

When contacting support, include the batch name, batch ID, the status shown in ARC, and the action you already tried.
