1. Overview
Use Configurations to manage the devices and settings used for scanning in ARC. The main setup areas are:
Stations and Computers
Scanners — Add or remove scanners.
Scan Modes — Manage the scan modes and advanced configuration settings used with scanners...
2. Access and roles
Station User can connect a computer to a station, add scanners, and use scanners for daily scanning.
Account Admin can manage stations, computers, scanners, and scan modes in their account.
Note: Account Admin users can use Advanced Configuration only when this access is enabled for their account.
3. Stations and Computers
A station is the location or setup where scanning happens. A station can have one or more connected computers.
A computer is the PC used for scanning. Each computer is linked with a unique Client Key.
You can also add a Location to help identify where the computer is used, such as a building, floor, or department.
3.1 Connect a computer to a station
When a user signs in on a computer that is not yet connected, ARC prompts the user to connect that computer to an existing station or create a new one.
Open Configurations.
Select an existing station, or choose Add Station to create a new one.
Enter the Computer Name.
Optional: Enter the Location.
Review the Client Key and save.
To find the computer name on Windows, open the Windows search bar, type PC Name, and open View your PC name. Use the name shown in the Device name field.

3.2 Manage stations and computers
Host Admin and Account Admin users can view and manage station and computer details in the Stations & Computers tab.
In this view, users can:
Create a station
Edit a station name
Delete a station
Review connected computers
Each batch in ARC shows the related station and computer information, which helps users identify where the batch was created.

4. Scanners
Use the Scanners tab to add a scanner and manage the scan modes linked to it.
4.1 Add a scanner
Open Configurations and select the Scanners tab.
Click Add Scanner.
Select a scanner from the connected scanner list.
Click Add Scanner.
After adding the scanner, ARC can prompt you to associate one or more scan modes right away.

4.2 Manage scanners
Users can open a scanner to view or update its linked scan modes.
From the scanner detail page, users can:
Associate additional scan modes
Remove a scan mode from the scanner
Delete the scanner
5. Scan Modes
Scan modes control how documents are scanned, such as color mode, resolution, and scan type.
Examples of scan mode settings include:
Color or black and white
Resolution
Simplex or duplex
In the Scan Modes tab, users can review the existing scan mode list and the scanners attached to each one.
Important: Creating new scan modes is available to Host Admin users. Other users may be able to use existing scan modes without creating new ones.
ARC includes recent improvements in this area. The scan mode setup screens now display more clearly, and scan modes that are already associated to a scanner are no longer shown again in the selection list.
6. Advanced Configuration
Advanced Configuration lets users manage scanner-specific driver settings for a scan mode.
These settings are tied to the selected scanner model. Before opening advanced settings, ARC asks the user to choose a scanner model.
Open a scan mode detail page.
Click Advanced Configuration.
Select the scanner model.
Review or update the available settings.
Save the changes.
Advanced settings can differ by scanner model. Depending on the device, available options may include feed settings, page size, scanning side, image processing, brightness, or other scanner controls.
ARC now also has better traceability for advanced scan settings. This helps admins and operations teams understand which settings were applied during scanning when troubleshooting is needed.
Use Advanced Configuration only when a scanner needs a specific setup beyond the standard scan mode options.
7. Help and support
Users can now access the Help button inside ARC to open support resources, search guides, and contact support more quickly.
If you need help with configuration or scanner setup, contact the Asset Records support team at asset.records@saas.geaerospace.com.
For the most accurate behavior, always follow the latest ARC release updates if they differ from older guide content.
